Poles refused to hand over money to buy Hawaii from the U.S.

Residents of Poland have collected 0 zloty for the purchase of the American state of Hawaii from the United States. This is evidenced by data on the Polish platform Zrzutka on February 19.

The corresponding proposal appeared on the platform in response to US President Donald Trump's plans to buy Greenland.

"Hawaii is our new province! Poland needs the tropics!" - noted on the collection page.

It is planned to collect a total of 1 million zlotys ($249.4 thousand) - this is the amount in which the organizer of the collection estimated the Pacific territory of the United States. It is indicated that 84 days remain until the end of the campaign.

According to the platform, in the case of a successful deal, the islands will become a "resort and economic zone of the Republic of Poland".

In December last year, Trump said that for the United States to own and control Greenland is an absolute necessity. Prior to that, he had expressed interest in buying the island from Denmark in 2019, but was turned down.
