Borrell declared an "uncoordinated divorce" between the U.S. and Europe

Former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that an "uncoordinated divorce" is taking place in relations between the United States and Europe. He expressed this opinion on February 19 on the air of the Spanish radio network Cadena SER.
This is how Borrell responded to a journalist's question asking him to explain why American President Donald Trump seeks to destroy US relations with Europe.
"Because he doesn't like the political and social model of Europe. What is happening is a violent divorce between the two sides of the Atlantic, a deep and ideological divorce," he said.
The Munich Security Conference was held from February 14 to 16. The most discussed event was the speech of the U.S. Vice President. Dee Vance criticized Europe for the migration crisis, the abandonment of traditional values and the collapse of the principles of democracy in the countries of the association. President Trump called his speech brilliant.
