Nissan's ex-factory in St. Petersburg will cut car production almost threefold

The production plan of Avtozavod St. Petersburg (former Nissan) for 2025 assumes the assembly of slightly more than 6.5 thousand cars. This is 2.5 times less compared to the number of cars produced at the plant in 2024. This is reported by "Vedomosti" on February 19.
According to the publication, last year the St. Petersburg enterprise produced about 16.5 thousand cars of domestic brand Xcite. Last spring, Governor Alexander Beglov said that Avtozavod St. Petersburg plans to produce up to 25 thousand cars under the Xcite brand by the end of 2024. Later, the production forecast was adjusted to 20 thousand cars, but even these figures were not achieved.
On December 6 last year it was reported that Avtozavod St. Petersburg does not plan to launch new models under its Xcite brand in 2025.
November 14, 2024 "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" presented a crossover Xcite X-Cross 8, which became the second model of the brand. It is offered in three configurations. The most affordable front-wheel-drive version is estimated at 2.99 million rubles, in the maximum version of the crossover costs 3.4 million rubles. Sales of Xcite X-Cross 7 started in Russia at the end of May.
