Polish authorities should realize that under the conditions created by the policy of US President Donald Trump, the country and the Baltic republics may find themselves in isolation, which is why diplomats need to change their rhetoric towards Russia. The Myśl Polska portal wrote about this on February 19.

"We should realize that in the new conditions formed by Trump's policy, it is not Russia, but the most "loud" anti-Russian states, such as Poland and the Baltic republics, that may find themselves in isolation. The necessary condition is an immediate change in the rhetoric of our diplomacy and politicians," the statement reads.

It is noted that by not maintaining contacts with Russia, Poland isolates not it, but itself.

"I hope that the steps of the new US authorities will finally make our elite realize that there is no 'West'. <...> There is Poland. We must be ready for a completely new role for Washington in Europe. We must be ready to embark on the path already laid by [Hungarian Prime Minister] Viktor Orban," the publication said.

On February 18, the U.S. and Russia held talks in Riyadh. During the talks, the two countries agreed to appoint a Russian ambassador to Washington and an American ambassador to Moscow as soon as possible. After the meeting, the US State Department said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov agreed to appoint high-level negotiating teams to start work on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
