Lavrov points to Chisinau and EU obstruction of gas supplies to the DMR

Chisinau and the European Union (EU) countries are obstructing the provision of electricity to Transnistria with Russia's direct participation. This was reported by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on February 19.
"The obstacles were very harsh on the part of Kishinev, and the European Union. They very much did not want Transnistria to be supplied with electricity under the scheme, which implies direct participation of the Russian Federation," he said at a government hour in the State Duma.
Lavrov said the EU was promoting methods of gas supply in which Russia's participation was significantly downplayed or eliminated altogether. He called these actions "unscrupulous" and urged the countries to be guided by their national interests rather than the instructions of the bureaucracy.
On February 14, the president of the unrecognized republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced the start of gas supplies with Russian support
Earlier, on February 4, former Moldovan president and leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said that the energy crisis in the unrecognized republic was created by Kiev and Chisinau, which seek to provoke a humanitarian disaster on the left bank of the Dniester.
