The Second Western District Military Court has sentenced machine gunner of the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Husak to life imprisonment for killing three Russian soldiers. This was reported in the press service of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation on February 19.
According to the investigation, in 2024, Gusak as part of a unit of the AFU illegally invaded the territory of Kursk region.
It is specified that the machine gunner participated in armed attacks on populated areas, shelled civilian infrastructure, intimidated civilians.
"In the 20s of August last year in one of the forest belts of Korenevsky district of Kursk region Gusak, executing an illegal order of his command and acting for terrorist purposes, shot three captured Russian servicemen from the machine gun assigned to him, they died on the spot," - said in a message on the website of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.
In the same month, Gusak was detained and found guilty under paragraph "b" of part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act resulting in the death of a person"). The court sentenced him to life imprisonment with serving the first seven years in prison, and the rest of the sentence - in a penal colony of special regime, the agency said.
Earlier, on February 4, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) sentenced 40-year-old Georgian citizen Nikolos Berianidze to life imprisonment for shooting three Russian servicemen with an automatic rifle as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
