To mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Izvestiya newspaper published front-line reports of the last months of battles within the framework of the "80 Days to Victory" project. A correspondent of Izvestia told about it on February 19.

As part of the project you can find what was previously only in the archives, the newspaper will publish daily frontline reports, archival reports, as well as photos and articles about the feats of Russian heroes.

"In each note that will be published, which is dedicated to the days before the Great Victory, there will be a hyperlink that leads to the authentic Izvestia, to those articles, to those notes, to those war reports that were published in Izvestia in 1945," said Izvestia editor-in-chief Sergei Koroteev.

Now every user has access to the full digital archive of Izvestia, starting from the first issues. It is noted that on the pages printed more than 100 years ago, you can search for words as in an electronic document, thanks to neural networks that recognize even pre-reform orthography.

On February 7, social and humanitarian organizations in Ecuador addressed the Russian Embassy with a proposal to hold commemorative actions in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is noted that the main events will be the actions "Immortal Regiment" and "Garden of Memory".
