Where and why classes were canceled in Russian schools

At the end of February in various cities of Russia came frost, because of which began to cancel classes in schools for students of all grades. It is important to note that each region has its own temperature values, at which schoolchildren can not go to classes.

It is known that classes were canceled in some cities of the Orenburg region. In particular, on February 19, students of grades 1-4 in the town of Gai and others, students of grades 1-9 in Popovskaya, Repinskaya and other schools, as well as students of all classes in Novonikolayevka did not go to class. Wednesday morning there was observed variable cloudiness, fog, frost. Northeast wind gusts were forecast from three to eight meters per second. According to "Yandex Weather", in the town of Gai, Orenburg region, this afternoon it was about -18 degrees Celsius, and in the morning the thermometer columns dropped to -25. Since no frosts are expected until the end of the month, in the future schoolchildren will continue to attend classes without cancelations.

It is important to note that in the region pupils of 1-4 classes can not go to classes at a temperature of -25 degrees and pupils of 5-8 classes - at -28 degrees. High school students will be able to skip classes only at -30 degrees.

Frosts came and in the Chelyabinsk region. In particular, pupils of 1-4 classes of Magnitogorsk did not go to school. There in the morning thermometer columns dropped to -25 degrees. Because of it all who go to classes in the first shift, on February 19 learn remotely.

The same situation has developed and in Zlatoust. On a site of Management of education and youth policy of Zlatoust city district in the morning informed: "Today, on February, 19th, in connection with adverse weather conditions classes in a full-time form from 1 till 7 class of the first shift are canceled".

In the Chelyabinsk region, the minimum temperature value for canceling classes is also -25 degrees for students in grades 1-4. And 11th graders can stay home at -28 degrees, but the wind speed must reach a minimum of 5 meters per second. If the weather is windless, the temperature should already be -31 degrees.

On Tuesday, February 18, classes were also canceled in 11 schools in the Kalininsky district of the Saratov region. In another 37 educational institutions from six districts did not go to school 1-4 classes. 61 schools did not hold classes for students in grades 1-6 and seven more for grades 1-9.

There were also reports of canceled classes in Kurgan and Chelyabinsk, but the temperature values there did not drop low enough.

Deterioration of weather in the regions of the Russian Federation

The head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand warned about the fact that cold weather will come to some regions of Russia.

"During this week, a significant cooling is predicted in the southern regions of the European part of Russia and in the east - in the Volga region and the Urals," the forecaster said.

In the south of the Central Federal District (Bryansk, Orel, Lipetsk regions) from February 20 to 24, the air temperature will be six degrees below normal. In Tambov, Voronezh, Kursk and Belgorod regions - by 6-8 degrees.

In Krasnodar Krai also observed a decrease in temperatures. There the values will be lower than usual for this time of the year by 6-13 degrees.

In addition, dangerous weather conditions are expected in the regions of the Southern, Volga, North Caucasus and Far Eastern Federal Districts.

Thus, in the Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai will be heavy rain and wet snow. The wind may reach 27 m/s. Speaking about Sochi, in the mountains and foothills forecaster promises very heavy snow and heavy accumulation of wet snow. The North Caucasus Federal District has similar conditions. In the Volga region, precipitation up to 25 mm may fall (in Tatarstan and Orenburg, Samara and Ulyanovsk regions). In Primorye the wind may reach 20-25 m/s.
