Reconstruction of Moscow's Torpedo stadium will be completed in 2026


Moscow Torpedo Stadium will be completely reconstructed by the fall of 2026. The capacity of the central arena will increase to 15 thousand seats. Three training fields with artificial turf of FIFA Quality Pro level are provided next to it, said the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his official Telegram-channel.
The complex reconstruction began three years ago. As a result, the stadium named after Eduard Streltsov. Eduard Streltsov Stadium will turn into a modern arena, where it is possible to hold international level soccer competitions, as well as rugby matches.
In addition, a few years ago, a sports complex of the same name was built there on Vostochnaya Street.
The stadium appeared in 1959 for training of the ZIL plant's soccer team - Moscow Torpedo. By the Olympics-80 it was expanded, a rare for those times system of electric lawn heating was made. Before the I World Youth Games in Moscow in 1998, the dilapidated arena was partially renovated.
