A resident of Sevastopol has been detained on suspicion of public calls to kill Russians, a criminal case has been opened. This follows from the statement of the FSSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on February 19.

"The FSSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol suppressed the illegal activities of a citizen of the Russian Federation, who is suspected of making public calls for the murder of Russians," - said in the statement.

It is noted that the 37-year-old resident of Sevastopol placed in the messenger Telegram materials in which he actively called for extremist actions.

The specialist analyzed these materials and concluded that in terms of linguistic qualification they call for violent actions against persons of a certain nationality - Russians.

A criminal case was opened against the suspect under part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to carry out extremist activities, committed with the use of the Internet).

Earlier, on January 28, the court sentenced a resident of Feodosia to 2.5 years in prison for public calls to kill Russians. According to the investigation, the man was an active participant of Ukrainian chat rooms in the Telegram messenger, where he published posts with Russophobic content.
