An expert spoke about the benefits of buying water from vending machines

It is best and safest to buy water in its own container in vending machines and kiosks. Artem Starostin, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Drinking Water Bottling Producers (ADPWP), told Gazeta.Ru.

"Meanwhile, in many regions it may not be safe to drink directly from the tap: such water contains chlorine and excess iron, all of which is harmful to the body. Jugs are not always effective, besides, it is better to store them in the refrigerator. Bottled water often requires tangible expenses. Therefore, it is water from vending machines - one of the best choices in terms of value for money, "- he said.

The expert noted that there are two types of vending machines for selling bottled water.

"The first - kiosks with artesian water: it is extracted in wells, carry out a thorough preparation to the required level of quality and safety, and then delivered to the kiosk by tanker trucks. The second type - devices for additional treatment of tap water by means of osmosis systems and other complex water treatment systems, depending on the initial composition of water", - said Starostin.

It is specified that both options, regardless of the choice, allow you to buy water much more profitable than bottled water. And such water may even be healthier by some criteria, such as freshness.

"Water is the basis of life. On its quality and safety depends the health of the nation and the future of the country. There are producers who treat the quality of their products in this way: selling water for them first of all serves a social mission. Unfortunately, not everyone shares this approach. There are entrepreneurs who think only about their own profit," he warned.

According to him, it is worth checking that the owner of selling points is responsible in his business. Vending machines should be regularly washed, filters cleaned and tested in honest laboratories.
