The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has opened a new exhibition on the history of the Russian Army and the Special Military Operation (SMO). Many things were handed over to the museum by the participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO), and they helped to make the exposition extremely realistic.

Pictures and exhibits are placed in two halls of the museum. The first one tells about the modern history of the RF Armed Forces from 1991 to 2025. The second one is dedicated to the special military operation. Here the prehistory is told, what were the reasons for the beginning of the SWO, there are numerous evidences of how the Ukrainian military killed civilians of Donbass.

Among the exhibits are personal belongings of the participants of the operation, uniforms, weapons and equipment, trophies taken by Russian troops - combat equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), chevrons and patches, damaged weapons of NATO countries.

"The items for the hall of the AFU were collected during expeditions of the museum staff to the war zone. There were seven of them. In addition, a great help was provided by volunteers. And, of course, the participants of military operations themselves, who have been cooperating with the museum for a long time. They considered it possible to give their personal belongings that were with them in the combat zone," said Sergei Razin, head of the scientific and exhibition department of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces.

Among the exhibits are many personal belongings of the heroes of the NWO. For example, the red backpack of Vladislav Golovin, commander of the Marine Corps, Hero of Russia, who became known throughout the country by his call sign Struna. His video on the front line with this backpack behind him became one of the symbols of the battles for Mariupol in 2022.

"The backpack itself is a bright spot, it is clearly visible in the video footage. Its color coincides with the Victory banner. I wanted to give it to the singer Yuta, but she treated this thing very reverently. She refused to take it and offered to give it to the museum. And here it is," said Golovin.
