The UK may send its Typhoon fighter jets to Ukraine to patrol the country's airspace as part of a peacekeeping mission after the end of the conflict. This was reported by The Times on 18 February, citing a government source.

As the interlocutors noted, it would be easier for London to supply fighter jets than ground troops, so airpower could be seen as an alternative to cut costs.

The spokesmen noted, however, that the "air patrol mission" would require a lot of investment, among them the supply of the planes themselves and air defense (air defense) systems.

According to the newspaper, the UK-led air patrol mission could be modeled after NATO missions in the Baltic states.

One of the interlocutors also indicated that fighter jets, including the Eurofighter Typhoon, would presumably have to be based in Poland.

On February 17, expert Yuriy Knutov assessed the statement about Britain's readiness to deploy troops in Ukraine. According to him, the British government will lobby for the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine at all levels, starting from pressure on the Kiev regime and ending with agreements with Europe on the continuation of the confrontation with Russia.
