Servicemen of a separate engineering unit of the Southern Military District (South Military District) organized the transfer of military equipment across a water barrier at a training range in Rostov Region during routine training. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on February 19.

"Before the practical part, experienced officers - participants of the special military operation (SMO) held lecture classes on the order and rules of organization of pontoon crossing, tactical and technical characteristics of the pontoon-bridge park (PBP) and safety requirements when working on the equipment. After that, the servicemen practiced the elements of deployment of the PMP and guidance of the crossing on a special simulator, fully imitating regular pontoon links", - reported in the department.

Training of servicemen was organized by tactical and formation method. It is noted that the training is based on the experience gained in the course of the SSO.

"This simulator helps us to work out actions in the assembly of both ferries and bridges. By roles we determine who is responsible for what and hone our skills," said serviceman Sergei.

During the practical part of the training the military engineers practiced the tasks of reconnaissance of the coastal zone and transfer of equipment using a floating transporter.

Earlier, Colonel Vladimir Demirov, head of the Rocket Fuel and Fuels Directorate of the Resource Support Department of the Russian Defense Ministry , told Izvestia that the Russian army has developed a new protected fuel tanker based on the Ural vehicle, the ATZ-8. This special vehicle is currently being used in the area of a special military operation.
