Trump backed the idea of deploying European peacekeepers in Ukraine
US President Donald Trump said during a news conference in Florida on February 18 that he would support the deployment of European peacekeepers to Ukraine.
Trump dismissed Ukraine's concerns about its exclusion from the U.S.-Russian talks in Saudi Arabia on ending the conflict and said he would not oppose the Europeans if they wanted to send peacekeepers to the country.
"Placing (peacekeeping. - Ed.) troops there would be fine, I wouldn't oppose it at all," Reuters quoted the president as saying.
At the same time, Trump said that the conflict in Ukraine could have been solved without territorial losses "even mediocre negotiators" several years ago. He also noted that he was really disappointed with the political developments during the US administration of former President Joe Biden.
