US President Donald Trump said on February 18 that the conflict in Ukraine could have been resolved without territorial losses "even to mediocre negotiators" several years ago.

"I hear that (Ukriana- Ed.) is upset that it was not given a place in the negotiations," he commented.

Trump also said he was really disappointed with the political developments during the U.S. administration of former President Joe Biden.

"A simple mid-level negotiator could have settled this years ago, I think, without losing a lot of ground," the president concluded.

TheRussian and United States delegations met at one of the royal family palaces in Riyadh earlier in the day. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the talks very useful. According to him, the sides "did not just listen, but heard each other."
