Meteorological spring will start in Moscow two to three weeks earlier

March in Moscow will be three to five degrees warmer than the climatic norm and meteorological spring will occur not as it should - on March 21, but two to three weeks earlier. This was reported by meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets in his Telegram channel on February 18.
"March seems to me to be three to five degrees warmer than the climatic norm and the so-called meteorological spring, that is, a steady transition of temperature through zero towards positive values, will occur not as it should - March 21, but 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule. Although no one is immune from the spring return of cold weather, which I see in April," he wrote.
According to Tishkovets, March will start with very warm weather, which will be three weeks ahead of the calendar. Due to the lack of abundant snow, the sun will begin to warm not the snowdrifts, but the surface air.
In addition, the forecaster noted that on Wednesday, February 19, it will be cloudy, short-term snow with an intensity of up to 3 mm and 1 cm of snow will be added.
According to the meteorologist, the weather is expected to be sunny and dry at the end of the week, by the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland - to -11 at night, to -4 - during the day, which corresponds to the climatic norm of February.
Earlier, on February 14, it was reported that meteorologists predict an unusually warm spring in 2025. The strongest deviation from the usual weather will be noticeable in the capital, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh and Samara, and the flowering of plants and seasonal allergies will begin earlier than usual.
