France intends to hold a second meeting with the European Union (EU) countries that were not at the first talks and with Canada to discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and the security of Europe. This was reported by Reuters on February 18, citing diplomats.

In addition, the format will be hybrid, including video calls. The discussion is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 19.

The summit in Paris took place on Monday, February 17. It was attended by the leaders of six EU countries, the UK, as well as NATO and EU officials. The Financial Times reported on February 18 that at the meeting the leaders of the EU member states faced disagreements over sending troops to Ukraine. It is specified that Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain expressed their refusal on this issue.
