Zara said it is ready to coexist in Russia with the owner of Maag and Ecru

Spanish company Inditex (owner of Zara, Bershka and Pull&Bear brands) in case of its return to Russia is ready to coexist with Daher Group (owner of Maag, Ecru, Dub), which bought the Russian business of the Western firm in 2022. The European holding company told Izvestia on February 18.
"If in the future Inditex <....> considers that new circumstances will allow the group's brands to return to the Russian market, the company and Daher Group <...> have an opportunity for potential cooperation under a franchising agreement," the Western company said.
In Inditex also recalled that the deal to sell the business in Russia three years ago included the transfer of most of the lease rights to the holding's retail space.
Earlier in the day, analysts of the Kokoc Group platform predicted a massive return to Russia by foreign companies. In 2025, 350 foreign brands, which left the Russian market in 2022, may return to the country. At the same time, some large companies, returning to Russia, risk facing serious problems. This is especially true for brands that offer everyday goods.
On February 17, Pavel Lyulin, vice-president of the Union of Shopping Centers (STC), said that it will take at least a year for foreign brands to return to the Russian market. At the same time Inditex holding stores, according to him, will be able to return to Russia faster than all the others.
