From March, owners of unregistered dogs will be fined in the Moscow region


In the Moscow region from March this year will begin to fine owners of unregistered dogs. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region on February 18.
"From March 2025 in the Moscow region will come into force changes to the CAO RF, which establish administrative responsibility of pet owners for failure to comply with the mandatory registration of their pets", - stated in the publication on the website.
This measure provides for the creation of a unified database on pets, which will simplify their search in case of loss.
According to the amendments to the CAO RF, Russians must register pets within two weeks after they reach three months.
It is noted that only dogs are subject to mandatory registration, other animals - at the discretion of the owner. In addition, the Ministry specified that the number of registered animals is not limited.
On January 1, compulsory registration of dogs began to operate in the Leningrad region. Cats can be registered at the owner's discretion, said Leonid Krotov, Head of the Veterinary Department of the region.
