Abkhazia's CEC sets second round of presidential elections for March 1

The second round of the presidential election in Abkhazia is scheduled for March 1. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Dmitry Marshan on February 18.

"By the decision of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia the second round of voting for the election of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia is scheduled for March 1, 2025", - stated in the message.

Early elections of the president of Abkhazia were held on February 15. The final turnout amounted to almost 69%. The second round went to Badra Gunba, who got 46.38% and Adgur Ardzinba with 36.92% of votes.

International expert Salvatore Cittadino called the elections in Abkhazia transparent and democratic.
