Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov has signed a law that prohibits the sale of alcohol in stores located in the yards of apartment buildings. He announced this on February 18 in his Telegram channel.

The law will come into force on September 1 this year.

According to Vorobyov, the residents of the region do not like the neighborhood of such retail outlets with houses and playgrounds, as they "increase the risk of a conflict situation".

Thus, the store must exclude alcoholic beverages from the counters if the door of the outlet faces the courtyard. An exception in this case, the governor of the Moscow region called those premises that are attached to the house or have a separate entrance from the street.

In addition, the restrictions prohibit catering facilities in apartment buildings to sell alcohol between 23:00 and 08:00. However, the measure will not apply to restaurants.

"Gazeta.Ru" on February 9 reported that the data of the Superjob poll indicate that two-thirds of Russians approve of the initiative to introduce a dry law for persons under 21 years old, which was proposed by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation. The total number of those in favor of this initiative amounted to 65% of respondents.
