Overchuk discussed energy cooperation with Iranian President


Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian discussed bilateral cooperation in the energy sector on Tuesday, February 18.
"They discussed cooperation in the energy sector, including the continuation of the construction of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr. We discussed issues with industrial cooperation in aircraft construction, in the field of joint development and creation of jet engines for passenger aircraft," he told reporters after talks with the Iranian leader.
Overchuk specified that the Iranian side showed great interest in Russian aviation equipment.
Among other things, attention was paid to the entry of Russian automakers into the Iranian market and the establishment of large-scale assembly of cars from the Russian Federation in Iran. The Russian deputy prime minister also added that he discussed the North-South transportation corridor with Pezeshkian.
"We focused more on our joint big project of building the missing 162-kilometer section of railway tracks between Iran's Resht and the Iran-Azerbaijan border, the city of Astara," he added.
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said the Russian-Iranian relations are actively developing in the military-technical sphere. He specified that the parties are satisfied with the result of work in this direction.
