Sales of Chinese cars with mileage increased by 69% in Russia

At the end of last year in Russia was bought 196.8 thousand used passenger cars of Chinese brands, which is 69% more than in 2023. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on February 18.

According to analysts, it is the models from China that show the greatest growth in the secondary market. Their share for the year rose from 2.1% to 3.3%. The entire secondary market of cars last year showed growth of 6%.

Chery brand accounts for a quarter of all purchased used cars of Chinese brands (9.2 thousand units; +47%). The second place is occupied by Geely (40 thousand units; +65%), the top five were completed by Haval (23.8 thousand units; 2.1 times growth), Lifan (20.7 thousand units; +7%) and Great Wall (12.8 thousand units; +3%). Indicators of other Chinese brands amounted to less than 10 thousand units.

Chery Tiggo remains the leader in the model rating in this segment with the result of 8.5 thousand units (+8%). Followed by Geely Coolray and Haval Jolion, as well as two models of Lifan - X60 and Solano.

Earlier in the day it was reported that in February 2025 on the Russian secondary market crossovers with mileage from private sellers were 10% cheaper than in the same month last year. The average price of SUVs (crossovers and SUVs) with mileage amounted to 3.02 million rubles.

On February 12, it became known that in 2024, used cars in Russia became more expensive than new ones. Thus, the weighted average price of a passenger car with mileage in Russia for the year increased by 13%, while for new cars this indicator increased only by 6%. In the secondary car market, the weighted average price of a car reached 1.18 million rubles.
