The REO named unusual discarded things of Russians


In 2024, coins, portraits and books of Soviet leaders, film cameras, records and even foreign car keys will be among the items thrown out by Russians. This was reported to the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) by regional authorities and representatives of rego-operators for solid municipal waste disposal. The data was read by Izvestia on February 19.
"For 2024, Russians sent to the trash bins such unusual items as gusli, telescope, a monument to the Stratonauts, vinyl records, coins," - said the general director of the REO Denis Butsaev.
Some of the found things got into the museum "Cultural Layer", which in 2023 received a special prize of the green award in the category "Initiatives of industry companies".
A large number of interesting items got on the tapes of the complexes "Vostok" and "Neva" in the Moscow region. It was there that sorting workers discovered a Sony video camera and a Sky-Watcher SLR telescope in 2024.
"Quite often rare editions of books, gold and silverware, old and new phones, household appliances, Soviet dishes, children's toys are taken off the tape. Archives of family photos, letters, collections of Soviet postcards and stamps, commemorative orders and medals are not so rare", - told in the company "Charter".
In addition, the keys to a Maybach car were found in 2024 at the sorting of the regional operator "MSK-NT".
"The car keys were in the jeans, the jeans were in a bag, it was mixed up and thrown out together with the garbage. People called us immediately. The time from the moment of contact to the beginning of the search was three hours. The owner of the keys appealed at lunchtime and in a day the keys have already been found", - summarized in "MSK-NT".
Earlier, on February 6, the REO also reported that in 30 regions began to use online cameras to monitor waste removal. It is noted that broadcasts will allow to promptly monitor and eliminate waste heaps at the sites.
