The State Duma supported the bill to increase liability for road builders


The State Duma has passed in the first reading a bill on strengthening liability for failure to comply with road safety requirements during construction, reconstruction, repair, maintenance of roads, railroad crossings and other structures. This is reported on the website of the lower house of Parliament on February 18.
The bill, which was introduced last summer, contains amendments to Articles 3.5 and 12.34 of the CAO. It provides for a fine of 40 thousand to 50 thousand rubles against officials responsible for the condition of roads, railroad crossings or other road structures. In respect of legal entities - from 400 thousand to 600 thousand rubles.
"At the same time, in the event that the above actions caused light or medium severity harm to the health of the victim, the size of the administrative fine for officials responsible for the condition of roads, railroad crossings or other road structures, will be from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles; for legal entities - from 800 thousand to 1 million rubles," - stated in the explanatory note.
On the eve it was reported that the state company "Avtodor" from February 17 canceled fines for staying more than two hours between the entry and exit points of the highway M-11 "Neva" with the total length of the route less than 50 km. Also, the state company announced the annual indexation of tariffs and subscriptions for travel on toll road sections.
Also on February 17, it became known that at least 85% of federal and 60% of regional highways in Russia will be brought into compliance with regulatory requirements by the end of 2030.
