Sobyanin presented medals for the 80th anniversary of Victory to WWII veterans

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers and former prisoners of fascism were awarded in Moscow. They were awarded jubilee medals for the 80th anniversary of the Victory, said the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his official Telegram-channel.

Among others, the commemorative signs were given to Nina Danilkovich, a partisan of the Western Front, biologist, colonel, participant of the 1945 Victory Parade Dmitry Epifanov, tanker, scout and participant of the first Red Square Parade Yuri Shabunin, a Red Army fighter since 1942, retired admiral, Assistant Minister of Defense of the USSR Svet Turunov, participant in the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR, Poland, East Prussia and Germany Viktor Karavaev, former deputy chief of the Main Staff of the Navy, blockade survivor Yuri Kvyatkovsky and artillery gunner, scout, retired colonel Ivan Lytkin.

In addition, medals were awarded to juvenile prisoners of fascism - Zinaida Lashuk, scientist-mechanic Nikolai Makhutov and diplomat Ivan Starovoitov.

In addition to them, the participants of the special military operation were also honored: Private Alexei Vybornov, Dmitry Evgrafov, Grigory Molodykh and Igor Smekalin received the Order of Courage, and Private Mikhail Vaskin received the Medal of Suvorov.
