Kaczynski says Poland reluctant to send forces for peacekeeping mission

The leader of the Polish opposition Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczyński, has said that the participation of the Polish military in the peacekeeping mission to Ukraine is impossible because the public will not support such an initiative. He said this at a press conference on February 18, his words are quoted by the portal Wirtualna Polska.
"Today we have a situation in which Polish society will definitely not accept this kind of operation," Kaczynski said.
The politician stressed that we are talking about the possible dispatch of an armored division of 30,000 soldiers, which, in his opinion, is unacceptable for Poland.
Kaczynski also recalled that in 2022, when he was Deputy Prime Minister, he proposed to introduce a NATO peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine. However, now, according to him, the situation has changed.
Earlier, on 17 February, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a conversation with journalists before his trip to the European Union summit that the issue of sending Polish troops to Ukraine was closed.
