More than 10 million workers are to be replaced in Russia by 2030


More than 10 million workers will have to be replaced in Russia by 2030 due to retirement. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova on February 18.
According to her, the total estimate of personnel replacement and involvement in the economy is 10.9 million people. Golikova also noted that about 800 thousand people should still be involved in the economy until 2030.
"It is planned to allocate 113 billion rubles from the federal budget for the implementation of the national project "Personnel" for the next six years <...> the main expenses are the federal budget," she added.
She added that the main goal of the national project is to create a new model for managing Russia's personnel supply.
Earlier, on January 29, Deputy Head of the Russian Labor Ministry Dmitry Platygin said that in the next five years, 11 million jobs are to be replaced in Russia. He specified that the manufacturing industry is in the first place by the volume of the replacement need. Here the authorities plan to place about 1.6 million jobs.
Before that, on December 2, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with young scientists in Novo-Ogarevo that despite the low unemployment rate, there is a problem of lack of workers in the country. He called the solution to this problem the introduction of new technologies, including in the field of artificial intelligence.
