UAZ with a new diesel engine completed northern tests

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has conducted winter tests of the promising diesel UAZ Profi in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. As follows from the test protocols (available at Izvestia's disposal), each of the three vehicles traveled over 15,000 kilometers during the tests.
The goals of the one and a half month program were to assess the efficient starting and driving qualities of the cars, calibration of electronic engine management systems, as well as to check the operation of on-board diagnostics OBD in low temperatures (down to -27°C). In addition, the automatic regeneration function of the particulate filter was tested in order to effectively burn through the particulate filter to reduce emissions.
Testers of diesel Ulyanovsk "Polutorok" said that the tests were held in urban conditions and on country roads at different speeds and temperatures, with and without loading. In the test protocols were recorded stable starts of the engines in low temperatures, as well as the absence of jerks and "failures" when driving on cars with an unheated engine.
UAZ noted that the cars successfully passed all the tests, demonstrating full readiness for the soon to be released on the market.
"All systems worked without complaints both directly during the tests and during the route from Ulyanovsk to Noyabrsk, a length of about 2.5 thousand kilometers, which all three vehicles overcame on their own," the company said.
As "Izvestia" reported on December 20 last year, to bring to the market UAZ "Profi" with a diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission is planned for spring 2025. And for late fall, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is preparing the debut of the updated UAZ Patriot SUV, which will also receive a new six-speed manual and will be available with both diesel and gasoline engines.
