German servicemen will not be sent to the territory of Ukraine during the "hot phase" of the conflict. This was announced by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock on February 18.

"Soldiers will not be sent in this hot phase," she said in an interview with ZDF TV channel.

She also added that the FRG cannot accept that the US-Russian talks in Riyadh are taking place without the participation of Ukraine and Europe.

The Financial Times reported that at the informal meeting of the EU heads in Paris the previous day, disagreements emerged over sending peacekeepers to Ukrainian territory. According to the newspaper, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain were against sending peacekeepers.
