Moscow regards the closure of the Russian House in Moldova as a meanness

Moscow regards the plans to close the Russian House in Chisinau as another manifestation of the Moldovan authorities' anti-Russian policy. This was reported by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on February 18.
"We regard this decision as another manifestation of the anti-Russian course of the current Moldovan authorities and meanness against their own Moldovan people," she said.
According to her, the Russian authorities hope that common sense will prevail in Chisinau and there will refrain from the decision to close the Russian House.
Earlier, on February 13, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that unilaterally terminated the intergovernmental agreement with the Russian Federation on the creation and functioning of cultural centers. The Ministry specified that this decision was due to the fact that the Russian Federation allegedly violates the sovereignty of Moldova.
In his turn, MP and member of the opposition bloc "Victory" Vasile Bolia called for reconsidering the decision toclose the Russian Science Center. According to him, such a decision of the ministry is absurd and short-sighted
Later, the chairman of the board of the cultural center, Lyudmila Lashchenova, told Izvestia that the closure of the Russian House in Moldova causes bewilderment and indignation, people demanding to intervene in this process. She also said that people are ready to take to the streets on February 15 with the confidence that they "should be heard by those who understand what a human society is".
