The tigress captured in Primorye will not be released into the wild for the time being because of its weight

A tigress caught in Dalnerechensk, Primorsky Krai, will not be released into the wild for the time being. The decision was made based on the results of surveys, which showed that the predator weighs less than the norm.

As PrimaMedia IA was told in the regional Ministry of Forestry, Environmental Protection, Wildlife and Natural Resources, the tigress was examined at the Tiger Center. It turned out that she is 1.5 years old and weighs 74 kg. Experts do not rule out that this is the sister of the tiger captured in December 2024 in Ebergard settlement.

The center noted that at such an age, kittens are still under the care of their mother, adopting hunting skills from her. This tigress was probably left without care and started looking for easy prey, pets near the settlements.
