Le Pen's party spoke out against sending the French military to Ukraine

Jordan Bardella, leader of the National Rally party, whose faction in parliament is headed by Marine Le Pen, said that he is categorically against sending French troops to the front. He said this on February 18 in a broadcast on the TV channel BFMTV-RMC.
Bardella recalled that this proposal was put forward by French President Emmanuel Macron a few months ago and that by doing so he had "isolated France on the European stage."
"I am categorically opposed to sending French troops to Ukraine. Since the beginning of this conflict, I have been saying that the biggest threat today to Europe's security is to find oneself one-on-one in a conflict with a nuclear power," Bardella said.
The political leader emphasizes that "France has commitments in Eastern Europe, especially in the Balkans, and secures the airspace of a certain number of countries."
On February 16, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the United Kingdom was ready to deploy its armed forces in Ukraine if it would guarantee security for the country.
