Russians named popular gifts for male colleagues on February 23rd

Almost half of the surveyed (47%) Russians consider shopping certificates to be the most successful gift for male colleagues on gender holidays. This is stated in the results of a survey of the service "Work.ru" and fintech company UMoneu, which were read by "Izvestia" on February 19.

Treats and sweets are the second most popular option: it was chosen by 35% of respondents. Thematic souvenirs will appeal to men, according to 28% of respondents. Alcoholic products are considered as a gift by 26% of respondents. Certificates for various procedures or entertainment - an option supported by 21% of survey participants.

17% consider it appropriate to give sports equipment, 15% - books and corporate merchandise, 13% - subscriptions to useful services, 11% - "soap" sets, 9% - perfumes, 8% - accessories and jewelry, 4% - flowers, 3% - socks and underwear.

According to the analysts of UMoneu, from February 1 to February 15, 2025, the number of purchases of books, including audiobooks, increased by 43% compared to the same period in 2024, souvenirs - by 4%, cosmetics and perfumes - by 23%, subscriptions to music, movies, books and other content - by 42%.

Also, the majority of respondents (70%) said that their companies support the tradition of congratulating employees on all gender holidays. Only 3% of employers congratulate their colleagues only on International Women's Day, and 1% - only on Defender of the Fatherland Day. A quarter of companies (26%) do not practice congratulations on gender holidays.

Earlier, on February 18, it was reported that among the surveyed Russians 38% are annoyed by the collection of money for the birthdays of colleagues. This is stated in the results of a study of financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru". At the same time 64% of this group fundamentally do not give money for gifts. Residents of Moscow and Novosibirsk have the most negative attitude to this, while respondents from Vladivostok, Irkutsk and Kemerovo regions expressed a particularly good opinion of this tradition.
