Decrease in marriages in leap years was recorded in Transbaikalia

In the Zabaikalsky Krai the number of marriages decreases in leap years. Thus, in 2024, 688 fewer marriages were registered in the region than in the previous year.

Olga Koryagina, head of the regional Department of Civil Registry, told ChitaMedia news agency. At the same time, the trend towards late marriage is decreasing. Now the average age of the bride is 27 years old, and the average age of the groom is 29. And couples aged 18 to 29 are the most active in creating families.

In 2024, the oldest groom at the time of registration was 93 years old, and the oldest bride - 84 years old.

Earlier Russians were told about favorable dates for weddings in 2025. The greatest interest is caused by the repetition of two and five.
