The programmer believes that the United States violated international rules and laws against him. There were 20 charges against him, on 19 of which he was acquitted.

"Money laundering as part of an organized group, improper access to information, altering information, extortion. They differed a little bit, the articles. I mean, for example, the article on access to data, different variations of these articles," Vinnik said, referring to the articles on which he was acquitted.

The Russian emphasized that the French side failed to voice the damage allegedly caused by the man.

"[In the US] there was no damage. They accused me of laundering $4 or $9 billion, but there was no damage, and there were no victims either," Vinnik said, emphasizing that the charges lacked witness testimony.

Taking into account all the inconsistencies, Vinnik did not make a deal with the investigation, but pleaded guilty. He added that he was facing life imprisonment.
