China says it supports any efforts to resolve the situation in Ukraine

China welcomes all efforts aimed at resolving the situation in Ukraine, including the peace talks between the USA and Russia in Riyadh. China's permanent representative to the UN Fu Tsung said at a briefing on February 18.

"China welcomes all efforts for peace, including the recent agreement reached by the United States and Russia to start peace talks," the South China Morning Post quoted him as saying.

He hopes that all parties concerned will participate in the peace talks and reach a lasting agreement that will suit all sides.

Bilateral talks between Russian and U.S. delegations began in Riyadh on February 18. The Russian Federation is represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, as well as CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, who is in charge of the economic aspect.
