FSB detains man in LNR on suspicion of gathering intelligence for Ukraine

A law enforcement officer was detained in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) on suspicion of transferring intelligence information to the special services of Ukraine. This is reported on February 18 by the press service of the FSSB of the Russian Federation in the region.

"The FSSB of Russia in the Lugansk People's Republic suppressed the illegal activities of a resident of the Svatovsky municipal district, involved in the transfer of intelligence to the Ukrainian intelligence service," - stated in the statement.

It is specified that the suspect collected information on the location of units of the Russian army, as well as the coordinates of the location of telecommunications infrastructure of the LNR. The data received from the suspect was used by the enemy for strikes.

A criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High Treason") has been opened against him. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, on February 10, a resident of Kursk region Maxim Moskalev was sentenced to 20 years in prison on the case of state treason and sabotage. It was noted that the defendant pleaded guilty and expressed regret for what he had done.
