The attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) is a desperate strike by Kiev against US companies and US leader Donald Trump personally. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in his Telegram channel on February 18.

"Ukrainian drones attacked a pumping and transfer station that provides oil transportation through the main oil pipeline of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. This asset is by no means Russian, and the oil in it is international in its legal regime. It belongs in certain proportions to various companies, including primarily American and European ones," he wrote.

Medvedev added that the share of American business in oil deliveries through the CPC last year amounted to more than 40%, and the aggregate share together with other Western companies amounted to more than 65%.

According to him, Ukraine deliberately attacked the station. Medvedev called it a triple blow to US companies, the oil market and Trump personally. Kiev thus wants to demonstrate to America "its danger".

Earlier, on February 17, it became known that in the Krasnodar region drones attacked the oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. It was specified that there were no casualties among the staff. The workers were able to prevent the threat of oil spillage.
