- Dmitriev pointed to the loss of $300 billion by US businesses after leaving the Russian market

American business has lost more than $300 billion from the withdrawal from the Russian market, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on Tuesday, February 18.
"Accordingly, finding joint economic ways and positive solutions to issues is extremely important mainly for the United States and for many other countries that are beginning to realize that the Russian market is extremely attractive and needs to be present on it," he said ahead of a meeting between Russian and US delegations in Riyadh.
Dmitriev noted the importance of economic cooperation and said he would be responsible for the economic aspect of the discussion. The RDIF CEO also assessed the bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington.
In his opinion, the establishment of a dialog will make it possible to solve a large number of global tasks and problems facing the world.
"So we hope for a positive discussion, a positive dialog and, of course, we see that President [U.S. President Donald] Trump is very active in solving a large number of problems in the world," Dmitriev pointed out.
He also expressed hope that Russia's position would be clearly heard.
On February 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov arrived in Riyadh to participate in Russian-American talks. They will be held in a bilateral format. Ushakov said that the participants are now facing the question of how to start a dialog on the Ukrainian issue.
