In Kuzbass, a local resident was beaten up and kidnapped because of a report of theft

In Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region, two local residents, one of whom is a minor, are suspected of kidnapping and beating a man. This was reported on February 18 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the region.

"It is preliminarily established that the minor figure in connection with the implementation of criminal prosecution against him on the fact of committing the theft of a car offered his acquaintance to force the victim to abandon his statement, with which he appealed to law enforcement authorities", - stated in the message in the Telegram-channel of the Department.

The suspects drove to the victim's house, beat him up, then placed him in the trunk and drove him to a wooded area where they continued to strike him. After the man agreed to comply with their demands, the defendants drove him back home.

A criminal case was opened under paragraph "a" of part 3 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of serious harm to health) and paragraph "c" of part 2 of article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (kidnapping). The defendants are interrogated, the issue of electing a measure of restraint in the form of detention for the minor suspect is being decided.

"During the investigation of the criminal case will also be given a proper legal assessment of the actions of the suspects in terms of forcing the victim to testify. The criminal case on the fact of committing by the minor defendant of vehicle theft is in court at the stage of consideration on the merits", - concluded in the IC.

February 4, a criminal case was opened in Moscow after a kidnapping with shooting. As a source told "Izvestia" later that day, the cause of the conflict was a defective carshare car. After the Russian Interior Ministry in Moscow reported that police officers detained the suspects born in 1998 and 2001. The kidnapped man was not injured.
