Meloni urged the EU to avoid an "anti-Trump format"

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said at an emergency summit in Paris that the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine cannot be an "anti-Trump format". This was reported by Il Sole 24 Ore on February 17.
According to Meloni, the US is working to achieve peace and the European Union (EU) should also contribute. She noted that Rome has no doubts about the urgency of the moment after the unexpected acceleration of President Donald Trump and the hastily organized meeting in Riyadh between delegations from Russia and the United States to study the terms of peace talks with Kiev.
The Italian prime minister said there were convictions at the executive level that the Baltic states, as well as Sweden and Finland, which recently joined NATO, should have been involved in the talks.
On that day, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the EU emergency summit in Paris had not made any decisions on Ukraine.
