Operators of Boomerang drones of the Vostok group of troops continue to carry out combat missions and destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) manpower and military equipment in the south Donetsk direction of the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on February 18.

"Operators of Boomerang combat FPV drones of the 40th Marine Brigade of the Vostok group of troops actively destroy the enemy supporting the offensive of our motorized riflemen deep into the enemy's defenses in the South Donetsk direction," the Defense Ministry said.

The type of projectile carried by the drone is determined by the operators themselves, depending on the task at hand. To destroy a tank, armored combat vehicles, infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and other military and special equipment, servicemen use a shaped charge. It can also be actively used on a dugout or fortified area.

"Basically, our tasks include identifying enemy positions of the AFU, and if possible - the destruction of these positions, infantry support and orientation on the terrain," said the commander of the platoon of drones with the call sign Lom.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry showed footage of combat work of "Boomerang-10" UAV units in the Kursk region. Having received the task, the team moved to the specified area. Having arrived at the site, the operator, using virtual reality goggles, began to detect the target.
