At least 31 people were killed when a bus fell from a height of about 800 meters, about 10 others were injured. Reuters reported on February 17.

"According to a police officer from a local hospital, the bus driver probably failed to control the bus, causing the vehicle to fall from a height of about 800 meters (2,625 feet) into a chasm in the southwestern municipality of Jokalia," the agency reported.

Of the survivors of the car crash, 10 adults and four children were taken to hospital and are being treated.

The local police department also reported that, according to one of the versions, the cause of the tragedy could be excessively high speed of the bus. The mountainous route, on which the vehicle was traveling, is full of winding roads.

Earlier, on January 25, at least 19 people were killed in an accident with a passenger bus in Bolivia. The dead reportedly included 14 women, three men, as well as one girl and one boy.

Last December, a minibus and a truck collided on a highway in Bolivia, killing 13 people. Three people - two men and a child - were also injured. The victims were treated and transferred to a hospital in the city of El Alto.
