Komodo 2025 International Security Symposium held in Indonesia


The city of Denpasar on the island of Bali, Republic of Indonesia, hosted the International Security Symposium as part of the multilateral international naval exercise Komodo-2025. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 18.
Admiral Vladimir Vorobyev, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, spoke at the exercise on behalf of the Russian delegation.In his speech, Vorobyev stressed that the multinational exercise Komodo, which is aimed at developing and strengthening cooperation in the naval field and is of an exclusively humanitarian nature, is being held and organized for the fifth time by the Indonesian side.
"The main focus of the exercise is to practice a set of joint actions of ship and vessel personnel of the forces taking part in the exercise to provide assistance to vessels in distress at sea and rescue crew members," Admiral Vorobyov said.
In 2025, two modern corvettes of Project 20380 are representing the Navy at the exercises. They are the Pacific Fleet (PF) corvette "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the corvette "Rezky". They are provided by the tanker "Pechenga".
"During the previous exercises they showed the highest maritime training and professionalism. Therefore, I have no doubt that they will show this high level this year as well," the head of the Russian delegation said about the Russian ships participating in the exercise.
In the exercise "Komodo-2025", the maritime part of which will be held on February 22, from the Russian side participates a detachment of TF ships. In total, warships and observers from more than 30 countries are participating in the exercise organized by Indonesia.
