Google's debt to Russian TV channels reached 2.8 duodecillion rubles

Google's debt to TV channels in Russia has reached 2.8 duodecillion rubles, a sum with 39 zeros, and won't stop growing, RIA Novosti reported on February 17, citing the capital's arbitration court.
The lawyer noted during the session that the amount does not meet the principle of proportionality and "generates procedural homunculi," resulting in the suffering of Russian creditors and employees who earn money into the bankruptcy estate.
"The amount according to the manager's calculations is 2.8 duodecillion rubles. All the assets on planet Earth will not be enough, even we in the Milky Way galaxy do not have the resources to settle this amount," he said.
The court was asked to recognize the debt claims as register claims, so that the company would first settle the wage debts and then deal with other debts.
According to the representative of the trustee in insolvency, the law does not make the priority of satisfaction of claims dependent on its size, and the existence of such sizes is due to the actions of Google, which refuse to fulfill the court decision.
"To recognize the claims as current, to refuse to satisfy the requirements for recognition as registry", - the judge announced.
Google and its information resources have repeatedly been brought to administrative responsibility for violation of Russian legislation. For example, on January 14 it was reported that Chertanovsky metropolitan court fined Google more than 8 billion rubles for evading administrative penalty. And on November 18, 2024, a court in Moscow fined Google 3.8 million rubles for failure to remove banned information.
