By March 5, the authorities will restart the program of preferential lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies from several industries - manufacturing, logistics, tourism, science and IT - will be eligible for this program. As calculated for "Izvestia" in the "SME Corporation", this is only 11% of the entire sector - they employ 743 thousand subjects.

Before that, for six years Russia had a broad preferential program ("1764") - companies from almost any sphere could get a loan. However, in the summer of 2024 its limits were exhausted, and the authorities decided to restart it.

Now under the updated mechanism (the program "1764 + PSC") the rate will be "key minus 3.5%". In addition, the financing itself will be reduced - up to 100 billion rubles annually.

The reduction in the amount of money is due to the fact that earlier entrepreneurs from the sphere of trade and construction used loans most often, said Dmitry Zavyalov, Director of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Plekhanov Russian Economic University. According to him, support for the service sector is important. However, now the state has other priorities - the economy needs comprehensive development of industrial entrepreneurship, enterprises that create high added value.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a goal until 2030 - to ensure real growth of income per employee of SMEs in 1.2 times higher than GDP growth. To achieve it, the focus will be made on several strategic tasks," - reminded the CEO of "SME Corporation" Alexander Isaevich.
