US President Donald Trump may agree to the withdrawal of US troops from the Baltics during negotiations with Russia. This was reported by the British newspaper Financial Times on February 17.

"European officials believe that Trump is likely to agree to withdraw US troops from the Baltics and potentially even further west," the piece said.

At the same time, the publication believes that Washington's possible decision to withdraw its soldiers from countries bordering Russia will make the EU vulnerable to Russia, writes "Gazeta.Ru". The article notes that Europe can no longer consider the United States a reliable ally.

Earlier in the day, NATO Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said that the U.S. will reduce its military presence in Europe and shift its attention to the Indo-Pacific region. According to him, about 100,000 U.S. military personnel may leave the European territory.

On February 14, Bloomberg wrote that Poland and the Baltics will be disappointed with the results of the talks between Russia and the United States. The consequences of the US leader's promises will be very alarming for them.
