It will take at least a year for foreign brands to return to the Russian market. Pavel Lyulin, vice president of the Union of Shopping Centers (STC), shared this opinion with Izvestia on February 17.

"I believe that some of the brands can return quite quickly, but the minimum term is a year after the removal of these restrictions. Rather, Inditex will come back to us faster, it is Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, because they have sites that are now occupied by Maag, Vilet and so on. That is, they can 'de-consolidate' quite quickly," he explained, noting that foreign manufacturers will have to compete with Russian brands that have taken their place and have grown a lot recently.

Speculating on how the return of European brands may affect pricing, the expert suggested that the cost of goods will decrease or remain at the same level.

Lyulin emphasized that certain conditions are necessary for the return of foreign companies, including the easing of sanctions, reduction of cross-border barriers and "political détente" between the West and Russia.
